Dr Anna Wiebke Klie holds a PhD in sociology and is a postdoctoral researcher at the Faculty of Humanities and Theology of TU Dortmund University. Her research focuses on civil society/civic engagement, migration and integration, sociology of religion and organizational sociology, as well as methods of empirical social research (qualitative, quantitative, cross-national comparative). Currently, she is a research associate in and coordinator of the research project "Cohesion in Europe through Religion".

Before that, Anna Wiebke Klie was a doctoral candidate at the Center for Religion and Modernity (CRM) at the University of Münster (2017–2020), scientific director of the office for the Second Engagement Report of the German Federal Government in Freiburg/Berlin (2013–2016), and research assistant at the Center for Intercultural Islamic Studies (ZIIS) / Institute for Islamic Theology (IIT) at the University of Osnabrück (2009–2013). There she also studied history (focus on modern/new history), literary and English studies (2003–2009).
