Info

Thomas Ruster, Professor for Systematic Theology at TU Dortmund University, was born in Cologne in 1955. He studied Catholic Theology at the University of Bonn and the Institut Catholique in Paris from 1974 to 1979. He took his doctorate in 1983 with a thesis on “Sakramentales Verstehen” [Sacramental Understanding] and completed his habilitation in Systematic Theology with a work about Catholicism in the Weimar Republic.

His main interests concern the distinction between God and religious powers, the theology of principalities and powers and angelology. Currently, he is researching on two issues, the theology of animals, and the triune office of Christ and the ecclesial ministries.
