Dr. Simone Horstmann (*1984) is a research assistant at the Chair of Systematic Theology at the TU Dortmund University. Her research areas include non-anthropocentric theologies, the relationship of theology to ecological challenges, and the elaboration of an animal theology. She published "Alles, was atmet. Eine Theologie der Tiere" (2018), "Was fehlt, wenn uns die Tiere fehlen?" (2020) and edited the edited volumes "Religiöse Gewalt an Tieren" and "Interspezies Lernen" (both from 2021). Her dissertation "Ethik der Normalität. Zur Evolution moralischer Semantik in der Moderne" was published in 2016.
