Research
Theology is a multidisciplinary subject whose aim is to reflect critically and constructively on the faith of a particular denomination and to make the insights gained accessible to the church, society and other university disciplines. Objects of theology are, for example, biblical texts, historical processes, statements of faith and religious doctrines as well as the lived religion of believing people, which are studied with appropriate scientific methods.
At the Dortmund Institute of Catholic Theology, scholars conduct research in the following areas
- Biblical Theology
- Systematic Theology
- Practical Theology/Religious Education
and present the program of their subject, current research priorities and research projects on the respective pages.
